WHO ARE WE?
Founded in 1969 by Rodrigo Van der Laat and Ricardo Jiménez, construction visionaries who had worked together at another company and decided to start their own project. In 1970, Víctor Acón, a civil engineer who would become a key player at Van der Laat Y Jiménez, joined the team.
In more than half a century of operations, we have built a legacy of excellence and reputation that positions us as one of the most established and respected construction firms in the country.

A civil engineer with a degree from the University of Costa Rica (UCR), Rodrigo Van der Laat is an experienced individual with a profound understanding of the construction business. The excellence of his work helped him found an internationally recognized company.

Víctor Acón
FOUNDING PARTNER
Víctor Acón studied Civil Engineering at the University of Costa Rica (UCR). Acón has been a member of Van der Laat y Jiménez since 1970, just one year after its founding.

Civil Engineering graduated from the prestigious Washington Catholic University, Jiménez is hardworking, visionary, and disciplined. His goal has always been to exceed objectives and deliver high-quality projects.
