THE NEW
PUNTARENAS HOSPITAL

With great joy and the presence of residents from different communities in the region, government officials, and the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), the people of Puntarenas inaugurated a project that represented a dream for the community: the new Monseñor Víctor Manuel Sanabria Martínez Hospital.

Se trata de la mayor obra de infraestructura construida por la CCSS en un solo momento, con un área total de 75 000 m² y capacidad para atender a una población de casi 400 mil personas.

This is the largest infrastructure project built by the CCSS at a single time, with a total area of 75,000 m² and the capacity to serve a population of nearly 400,000 people.

This is a magnificent project, on par with first-world hospitals, and stands out not only for its infrastructure and new services, but also for the quality and friendliness of the care its patients receive.

In addition to its large size, this hospital incorporates high-tech equipment into its services, enabling healthcare services even for the most complex health pathologies.

Among its innovations are services that, were not available at the previous Puntarena's hotel. An example of this is the Physical Therapy service, which has facilities comparable to those of a modern gym, equipped with specialized machines, hydrotherapy, and even a therapeutic pool.

It also has a modern, high-tech angiograph, the only piece of equipment available in the social security system outside the metropolitan area. This device will allow the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases through real-time images of blood vessels, facilitating the detection of obstructions, aneurysms, and other abnormalities. It will also enable minimally invasive procedures, such as angioplasties and stenting, which will improve the quality of care for policyholders and reduce patient recovery times.

Additionally, it incorporates unique pieces of technology in the region, such as the first 100% robotic pharmacy in Central America.
